Trip description
On this adventurous tour we drive to Kárahnúkar dam before going to Hafrahvammar where the hike starts. The canyon is one of the deepest in Iceland, about 200 metres. After the dam was built in 2008 it´s now possible to follow the riverbed and discover a whole new world. The tour involves crossing small streams in the canyon (wading shoes are included). After the hike we take a short drive to Laugavalladalur and dip into the natural warm pool and the warm waterfall. The tour ends in Egilsstaðir or at your accommodation.
